Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 July 2026
The short version: These are the rules for playing Main Street Makeover, a free, pre-release mobile game with no accounts and no purchases. The main points: the Game and its story are ours — please don't copy or reuse them; the Game is in testing, so expect bugs and changes and it's provided "as is"; and these Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer.
Each section opens with a plain-language summary in italics. The full text is the legally binding version.
1. Agreement
By playing, you agree to these Terms.
By downloading, accessing or playing Main Street Makeover (the "Game"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Game. The Game is provided by Fabric Games Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales, whose registered office is at Ennis Suite, Unit 4, 419 Wick Lane, London, E3 2PW.
2. Who can play
The Game isn't for children.
The Game is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to play, and where a higher minimum age of digital consent applies in your country (for example, 16 in the EEA/UK or 14 in Québec), you must meet that age. By playing, you confirm you meet these requirements.
3. Your licence to use the Game
We let you play it for your own personal enjoyment.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and play the Game for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms.
4. Our intellectual property
Everything in the Game is ours — don't copy, reuse, or take it apart.
The Game and everything in it — including the Main Street Makeover name, its characters, story, dialogue, script, artwork, music, audio, code and design — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except as permitted by law, you may not:
- copy, reproduce, distribute, publish or publicly display the Game or its content;
- modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works from it;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Game, or attempt to extract its source code or assets;
- remove or alter any proprietary notices; or
- use any of our content, characters or branding for commercial purposes.
Fan content: You may share screenshots or recordings of your own gameplay for personal, non-commercial purposes (for example, on social media), provided you do not imply that we endorse you or your content.
5. Acceptable use
Play fairly and lawfully.
You agree not to: use the Game for any unlawful purpose; cheat, hack, exploit bugs or use unauthorised third-party software to gain an advantage or interfere with the Game; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Game or any related systems; or use the Game in any way that could damage, disable or impair it.
6. Pre-release (alpha) nature
This is a test version — expect rough edges and changes.
The Game is a pre-release / alpha version made available for testing and evaluation. It is a work in progress and may contain bugs, errors or crashes; be incomplete or change significantly; lose or reset your progress; and be modified, suspended or withdrawn at any time without notice. You use the Game on this basis.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
It's provided "as is", but your legal consumer rights still stand.
The Game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
8. Limitation of liability
Our liability is limited — but not for things the law won't let us limit.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Game. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Game is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us to use the Game (which, for a free game, is nil) or £100.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
9. Termination
Either of us can end things; the key clauses survive.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Game at any time, including if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Game at any time by uninstalling it. Any provisions that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability — will survive termination.
10. Third-party services
The Game runs through Google Play and uses Google and Meta tools, under their terms.
The Game is distributed through Google Play and uses third-party services, including analytics and advertising tools provided by Google and Meta. Your use of those platforms and services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
11. Privacy
How we handle your data is set out separately.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your data. By playing the Game, you acknowledge that policy.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these; continuing to play means you accept the update.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where changes are material, make reasonable efforts to notify you in the Game. Changes take effect when posted; if you continue to play after that, you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
English law applies — but consumers keep their local protections.
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may instead bring proceedings in your country of residence, and you continue to benefit from any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law where you live — nothing in these Terms deprives you of that protection.
